why i chose this
Anyone can talk about creator marketing. I wanted to build a UGC portfolio the way a creator actually would.
the challenge
The project started before I had a portfolio or a paid collaboration.
research
Worked through a UGC creator masterclass (Gigi Chahal, She Creates Academy) to understand how the creator economy is actually structured, then ran a creative audit of active ads in the Meta Ads Library and TikTok Creative Center to identify recurring patterns (hooks, pacing, calls-to-action) that brands consistently invest media spend behind, not just what performs well organically.
what i noticed
the strategy
Pick a niche from my own identity (student, retail educator, marketing grad) instead of competing in oversaturated beauty and fitness, and build proof-of-work before doing any outreach.
execution
Built an 8-spec-ad portfolio spanning Beauty, Fashion, Finance, Tech, Travel, B2B, Sports, and Food, benchmarking hooks and pacing against real ads running in the Meta and TikTok ad libraries.
Set up a simple system to track outreach, deliverables, and payment terms before sending a single pitch.

reflection
This one doesn't have an ending yet. That's the point. It's the project I'm inside of right now, not one I'm looking back on.
